Cynthia provides psychotherapy for children, adolescents and families, and has
over 25 years experience working with children and families. She completed
a Master's Degree in Pediatric Nursing in 1972 and subsequently worked as
a Clinical Nurse Specialist in pediatric cardiology, held a university
nursing faculty position, and worked as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
with a specialty in developmental and behavioral pediatrics. She completed
a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 1997, followed by a
2 year clinical fellowship in child and adolescent mental health
care.
In her practice with children and families, Cynthia integrates the
biological/medical, psychological and family systems perspectives in the
assessment and treatment process. She works in close collaboration
with the child's physician and school to formulate treatment plans.
Cynthia has a special interest in working with children and teens that
have experienced trauma. She has Level II EMDR training with a focus
on using this modality with children.
