Carla holds a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from the University of Wisconsin- Stout, with a dual concentration in mental health and addictions counseling. She is a licensed professional counselor, and provides psychotherapy to individuals and couples. She has 10 years of experience in private psychotherapy practice. Carla is a certified EMDR therapist through the EMDR International Association. She is also certified as an addictions counselor by the Wisconsin Certification Board.

Carla is a member of the American Counseling Association, the EMDR International Association, the Association for the Advancement of Psychosynthesis and Spiritual Directors International. She also teaches and facilitates spiritual formation and personal growth groups.

Carla’s treatment approaches include:

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)--a powerful treatment for decreasing or resolving the effects of traumatic experiences and the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. EMDR is also an efficacious treatment for anxiety disorders (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder; Phobias; Generalized Anxiety)

DNMS (Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy)--a comprehensive psychotherapy approach for helping adults who were abused as children, or who did not have important developmental needs met in their growing-up years. DNMS can relieve “stuck points,” unwanted symptoms or behaviors, and can help clients gain an increased sense of happiness, security and optimism in their adult lives.

Integrative Mind-Body-Spirit approaches to help manage, reduce, or recover from severe stress, burn-out, mood disorders, acute emotional distress, grief, chronic illness, chronic pain, or addictions.
